Video: Namir Blade - Ride

Namir Blade released his first self-produced album, "Metropolis". Now, he has dropped the video for the single “Ride”. It’s a warm and buoyant hooptie ode that finds joy in having a rundown whip, the spiritual successor to William DeVaughn’s “Be Thankful for What You Got”. In the video, Blade pops the hood of his ride before dancing with a group of close friends. Circled by cars of varying makes, models, and statuses, they’re happy to have the mobility those vehicles afford but more elated about having one more place to connect. Lyrically and visually, “Ride” and the rest of Metropolis are a testament to finding gratitude even when the world seems grim.
