Video: Guilty Simpson - Make it Count w/ Jason Rose & DJ Ragz

Some of us seventies and eighties babies might remember the golden age of Hasbro G.I. Joe commercials, particularly the amazing sets that they'd build for the action figures.  "Make It Count" , the third single released off Guilty Simpson 's album "GUILT" features Guilty clutching an extra sized joint and a wide-ranging collection of weapons while turning the battlefield into a slaughterhouse, Rambo style.  It showcases Jason Rose 's skills both behind the boards and on the mic, as the producer drops a verse alongside the Detroit King with precise cuts provided by DJ Ragz .  "GUILT" is OUT NOW (7/29) on Man Bites Dog Records .  Video shot and edited by Mostly Decen t with help from Stephanie and Kount Fif .

Video: Guilty Simpson - Linchpins w/ Prince Po & DJ Ragz

Image
Since first connecting with Dilla, Detroit emcee Guilty Simpson has been a Linchpin — a crucial part of holding the Detroit Hip Hop scene together. Father to a spawn of rappers who were influenced in the wake he created, it’s apropos to name a song on his new project “Linchpins” .  The track finds Mr. Simpson in samurai form, sharpening his steel against fellow legendary artist and co-founder of Organized Confusion , Prince Po . Continuing with the theme of "Guilt” , producers Dub Sonata and Maitre D brought in multi-instrumentalist Alex Blum to flesh out a lush string section, while DJ Ragz adds a display of turntablism, polishing off another highlight on the “Guilt” project, set to release via Man Bites Dog Records on July 29th (Pre-Order available now). Video: Guilty Simpson - Go Where I Please w/ DJ Ragz

As the thunderous bass drops, and a belaboring thump of the kick drum bangs, Kount Fif ’s haunting vocals (“Freak, Freak Beats, Slamming like Iron Sheik...") eerily enter the stage.   “Go Where I Please” , the first single off of Guilty Simpson ’s upcoming album "GUILT" , showcases the Michigan spitter’s swagger paired with a dynamic score from MBDR work horse producer Kount Fif , and scratches by DJ Ragz . Set in the shadows of Detroit, the accompanying video was edited by R.M.L .
