DEFINITION OF FRESH

"Hatshepsut" helps set off the electrified beginning of the "Chocolate Bars" debut album by EMMA LEE M.C. and Roccwell with an unexpected edge, haunting synths, and cinematic take on the boom bap drumline. Pairing unbeatable storytelling bars with world class cuts by DJ LP2 of France, the song covertly and creatively illustrates the tale of the first documented woman to successfully rule as pharaoh in ancient Egypt. EMMA LEE M.C. channeling the story in first-person voice is a near perfect metaphor against Roccwell 's dark and broody soundscape, complete with a hook worthy of the gym or the stadium. Like a motivational painting on wax, "Hatshepsut" unapologetically warns doubters to watch the throne, affirming from start to finish that "this is history, baby!"

Second single taken off the Emma Lee M.C. & Roccwell "Chocolate Bars" album (CD/LP/digital), out 10/04/24 on Ill Adrenaline Records . The follow-up single "Cravings & Withdrawals" with Hip Hop legend Bahamadia holds its own as one of the smoothest rap duets put to wax in a long time. As Roccwell riffs the beat like a spacey and jazzy interlude, an elite skill level of emceeing is on display by two generational talents unapologetically pouring onto the track. The dream duo gives us an unbeatable breather during the hooks which are elevated by an adaptation of classic neo-soul R&B, asking whether listeners are "craving something real?" Clever cuts by DJ LP2 once again punctuate the odyssey and are sure to please most music heads.

First single and video taken off the Emma Lee M.C. & Roccwell "Chocolate Bars" album (CD/LP/Digital), out 10/04/24 on Ill Adrenaline Records .  On the lead single “Like It’s 93” featuring Hip Hop legend Masta Ace , listeners are treated to a unique twist on nostalgia. Emma Lee M.C. personifies Hip Hop by lyrically describing a dysfunctional but loving relationship using over 40 classic rap album titles all released in the year 1993, with Masta Ace responding metaphorically in a classic rebuttal.  The track rolls in with a dreamy soundscape over Roccwell 's signature snare drum spine, lifts and waves with Emma Lee M.C. 's softly layered vocals in the hooks, and ends with a sonic collage of reflective cuts by DJ LP2 reminding us why we fell in love with Hip Hop. As mentioned from "Digable Planets to Doggystyle" , this track is a witness and poetic questioning of a pivotal time in music.

Legendary QNC ( J.V.C.F.O.R.C.E. members  Curt Cazal and Q-Ball ), well known from underground classics like 'Repertoire' and 'Come Correct' and closely linked with the history of the D&D Studios , team up with Roccwell and DJ LP2 from France for an epic banger. 'From CI' is a reference to their hometown Central Islip, NY, and leaves no doubt about it´s significance for 90s Hip Hop.  Digital Download & Stream:  Spotify : https://spoti.fi/2SDpdCr Apple Music : https://apple.co/2Qm74bj iTunes : https://apple.co/33mNgK2 Amazon : https://amzn.to/2w5GRaa Bandcamp : https://bit.ly/2UeE1HD

This is the second video off Mayhem & Soulslicers impending "Soul It May Seem" album, aptly titled "Patriots" for it's play on the NFL team's colors. Legendary Boston MC's Edo.G ( Special Teamz / A&E ), Big Shug ( Gangstarr Foundation ), and seasoned veteran M-Dot ( EMS ) accompany uprising lyricist Mayhem ( EMS ), as they pay homage to their city, colors and team. While avoiding the cliche tribute record, each emcee uses individual verses, utilizing wordplay to articulate separate colors (Red, Blue, Silver) amalgamating into the "Patriots" voltron style. Big Shug provides the hook on this conceptual single, Soulslicers lay the drums and DJ LP2 handles scratch duties. ***Thanks to Revalation (EMS) for sending***
