The “Buddy” remix, originally appearing as “Buddy (Native Tongue Decision)” , was released in 1989 on the 12" vinyl single release of  “Buddy” . It featured an entirely new beat (produced by Prince Paul ) and additional verses from A Tribe Called Quest , Monie Love , and Queen Latifah . Often noted as a perfect example of a “pure” remix – recalibrating both the lyrical and musical elements of the original song – this posse cut has been a long-revered favorite of De La Soul fans. The estate of the late Phife Dawg has released his posthumous album "Forever" .   The album features 13 tracks, with guest appearances by Rapsody , Busta Rhymes , Redman , Q-Tip , De La Soul , Little Brother , and more.

In 2010, SVNTY6 released this project under the name FlamesYall . Back then, FlamesYall wasn't the producer he is today, and he was never happy with the results. Six years later, and under the name SVNTY6 , TribeFlips has been re-produced, re-mixed and re-mastered. It has also been trimmed from 18 tracks to 10 tracks and bumps 1000x more than the original. SVNTY6 is a huge ATCQ fan. and more than that he is a huge fan of the original tracks Tip and co. sampled to create their various albums.
