The aptly titled track "Patriots" calls upon some serious heavy hitters from Massachusetts. Legendary Boston MC's Edo G ( Special Teamz ), Big Shug ( Gangstarr Foundation ), as well as seasoned veteran tongue twister M-Dot ( EMS ) accompany uprising spitter Mayhem (also of EMS ) in paying homage to their city, their colors and their team. While avoiding the cliche tribute record, they rather each use individual verses to articulate wordplay on separate colors ( Red, Blue, Silver ) compiling into the "Patriots" (Voltron style). Big Shug provides the hook on the crafty single, Soulslicers ' lay the drums and DJ LP2 handles scratch duties.
