DEFINITION OF FRESH

London-based multi-instrumentalist and producer WAZ-U is returning with his second album, Preludes: Dusk Psalms , set for release on 16 May 2025 via independent label Biodiversity . The 15-track record further refines the artistic depth of his debut, blending electronic textures and classical compositional techniques in an intricate, immersive listening experience. Ahead of the album release, WAZ-U has dropped an exclusive vocal version of ‘Vermillion: G Major’ , featuring Lilyg !

Five years after their debut album ‘Between A Dream’ , Bristol synthpop duo Phonseca return with ‘Everything Lasts Forever’ , an album that sparkles and shimmers. ‘Everything Lasts Forever’ happily takes its inspiration from the likes of New Order , The Beloved , Chromatics , The xx , Robyn , Pet Shop Boys and Ryuichi Sakamoto . The range of Kristina’s voice perfectly captures the variety of feelings that the lyrics portray. Putting herself at the centre of songs which cover Love , Grief , Clubbing and Internationalism . Also included is their take, on timeless pop classic Downtown . In addition to the vocal tracks, there are a number of ambient/soundtrack inspired instrumentals, completing a varied yet balanced album of effervescent, nocturnal and emotive pop music. The album ends with the poignant, solo piano track ‘Our Star’ , allowing you to pause, and reflect on things.

Phonseca is a Synthpop/Ambient/Electronica project, which brings together Bristol’s much respected keys/synth player Matthew O’Connor and brilliant Swedish vocalist Kristina Sheppard .  The pair have already been championed by both Gideon Coe and Steve Lamacq for their debut album and are now beginning to unveil tracks from the follow up, of which ‘Staring At The Sea’ is the first!  ‘Staring At The Sea’ is a heartfelt, pulsating, all-out pop single. The track is a declaration of love and wasting no time with a sense of urgency. The track’s wide-eyed cinematic pop sentiments feel immediately familiar as Matthew’s 80s style drum machines and synth moods combine with Kristina’s soaring vocals for epic effect.

Cinderhaze , the second single from UK producer Stumbleine ’s forthcoming eighth album.  ‘Deleted Scene’  , envelopes you in a gorgeous pool of sound that shifts and pulls its emotional weight in cyclic waves. ‘Deleted Scene’ releases June 14th via Monotreme Records . Fuera - three friends from Naples, share their hypnotic new single ‘Mariposa’ , which is out now on Fuera ’s own ‘fueraroom’ imprint, via ADA / Warner Music . The track is a manifesto of Fuera ’s new stylistic code in which Experimental Electronics, IDM and Ambient atmospheres mix with a catchy topline to tell their evolution.

The ‘Write to Be’ EP was inspired by the moment when London based Japanese artist, Mieko Shimizu stumbled upon a tiny house in a doorway on the deserted streets of Soho during lockdown. On its cardboard walls were written various tales; friends who died in the Hillsborough disaster, soldiers returning from war in Afghanistan, the love of a mother lost to cancer, life on London streets. The EP features the Mieko Shimizu produced ‘Where Do You Go’ by William D Drake , formally of The Cardiacs , ‘Without’ from Monica label artist in Berlin; B arbara Morgenstern , ‘Inner’ by Accidental Records artist Ola Szmidt and ‘John’s House’ by Mieko Shimizu .
