On If It Ain't Broke, Remix It , Newselph carries on tradition in the spirit of Hip Hop legends like Pete Rock , Erick Sermon and Buckwild in the sacred art of remixing and refixing. Like the boom baptists before him, Newselph 's ear hears transmissions reserved for angels and dolphins. He takes tracks that in their original incarnations are perfectly fine, banging even, and gets all up in the inner workings of said slaps to create something entirely different. There is no doubt that Newselph may currently be the most active hip hop producer in Canada, and his latest collab—among a recent string of releases—is with emcee James Gardin on a remix of his hit, "Promise Land" .  Originally released in 2017, the track was featured again on Gardin's '21 compilation, The Groove Collection .  This remake is a more jazzhop, chill version, which is a perfect companion to the vocal performance that rivals Arrested Development 's Speech (think: "Tennessee" ).
