  Radical, nonconformist, Japanese singer and multi-instrumentalist Mieko Shimizu has just dropped the video for her latest single “My Tentacles” , which has picked up BBC 6 Music airplay recently from Deb Grant & Tom Ravenscroft , is the title track of the soon to be re-released album of the same name. Past Life Romeo shares the single “Sometimes, Most Nights” , that mixes saturated guitars reminiscent of early M83 , with hyperpop production elements inspired by SOPHIE and the candid, avant-garde pop of Farrah Abraham . “Sometimes, Most Nights” shakes up the codes of the pop song: between verse and chorus, the line is blurred. The song's temporality is cyclical, representative of what it evokes: a relationship that goes round and round and doesn't move forward: "We go round and round again" . The ‘Write to Be’ EP was inspired by the moment when London based Japanese artist, Mieko Shimizu stumbled upon a tiny house in a doorway on the deserted streets of Soho during lockdown. On its cardboard walls were written various tales; friends who died in the Hillsborough disaster, soldiers returning from war in Afghanistan, the love of a mother lost to cancer, life on London streets.
