Album Review: Cuzoh - Dirty Violet
Things are looking up for the Hempstead, Long Island, NY artist Cuzoh. Quite literally – his album "Dirty Violet" is an innovative and creative twist of Hip-Hop and Soul, reminiscent of Kanye's 808s & Heartbreak.
Cuzoh has been prolific in his career thus far, from working with some of the best musicians around from coast to coast including 3x Grammy award winners, "Ghetto & Blues" (formerly known as Product G&B) & Platinum recording artist/writer Big Mike (From Day26) as well as music placements on stations such as ESPN, CBS Sports, Bleacher Report, and multiple Cable television series.
"Dirty Violet" is a smorgasbord of samples, featuring futuristic & dreamy synth lines with elements of Jazz & Rock that never strays away from the essence of R&B & Hip Hop. The album is produced by multi-award winning producer Centric and features Layzie Bone from the Grammy award winning group Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, John Pritchett aka TR3 (featured twice on "Sway In The Morning" show) and up and coming artist Bright.
Centric's production does not overshadow the Cuzoh's talent and versatility on this album. Stand out tracks are "Feenin' For Your Love", "Gone Forever", "The Late Show" and "Nothing Like Me". If you’re looking for an artist that is not afraid to move into move into fresh new territory, Cuzoh is that artist and the album "Dirty Violet" will definitely satisfy.
