Stimela! 20 Years of Refugee Week


Refugee Week UK marks 20 years of its festival with a special release on UN World Refugee Day: a remarkable compilation album featuring eighteen tracks by musicians with refugee backgrounds and artists in solidarity with refugees.

The musicians have donated their music to to unite with people around the world seeking sanctuary and those facing detention & deportation. The themes coming through the album are that of solidarity, empathy, a questioning of history and forward-looking global activism and humanity.

Featuring some of the most sought after UK artists, the album has truly global reach with influences and styles stretching from Zimbabwe to electronic Palestinian-Dabke rhythms; Balkan beats to UK hiphop & grime!

Funds raised from sales of the album tracks will go towards funding Refugee Week artistic projects produced by Counterpoints Arts in 2019.
