News: XXL Freshmen Shut Down the El Ray Theatre in Los Angeles CA



Los Angeles, CA (June 26, 2014) – Following the success of the XXL Freshmen Live 2014 show in New Yorkthe leading urban music publication in the country had a follow-up night to remember in Los Angeles. Long lines were wrapped around the corner with eager fans anticipating the performances of some of the this year’s Freshmen Class branded as the “Dirty Dozen.” Each year the Freshmen artists surprise fans with special celebrity guests that accompany them during their show. At the New York show, Cover Boy Troy Ave brought out Fabolous while Ty Dolla $ign brought out R&B darling, Sevyn Streeter to perform her hit single “It Won’t Stop at this year’s LA show.

Now in its 7th year of crowning ground breaking artists, XXL Magazine has cultivated and captured the Hip-Hop community by unveiling the most  talented unknown artists by giving them  a platform and cover story awareness that swiftly transitions most of them as the nations most sought after artists.  The 2014 Freshmen Class cover includes Rich Homie Quan, Ty Dolla $ign, Kevin Gates, Chance the Rapper, Isaiah Rashad, Vic Mensa, August Alsina, Troy Ave, Lil Bibby, Jon Connor, Jarren Bento and Lil Durk. Thanks to Monster Energy, Flat Fitty and Captain Black, fans had the pleasure of witnessing their newest favorite rapper live.
