News: HOT 97's Ebro & Rosenberg Go Head-to-Head With XXL's EIC Vanessa Satten
NEW YORK, NY (May
9, 2014) – XXL Magazine’s Editor-In-Chief Vanessa Satten, Hot 97’s Ebro and Peter Rosenberg take
listeners to the school of Hip-Hop launched by an intense
conversation about this year’s recently released Freshman Class.
Covering the most controversial question about the cover – why R&B
was included in “The Dirty Dozen.” You will see much more on the video
link, but Satten had this to say, “With more and more rappers singing
and singers rapping, it seems like there
is a kind of a grey area and it’s our responsibility as ‘Hip-Hop on a
Higher
Level,’ to cover what’s going on within the [Hip-Hop] culture.”
In addition to discussing the Freshman
Class, Satten, Rosenberg and Ebro
drop some gems about the current affect Hip-Hop has on the younger
generation
of music lovers, why rising artists need to be more socially aware, the
importance of preserving some of the values initiated by old school
Hip-Hop
heads, and much more. The conversation was also joined by News Editor
Emmanuel Maduakolam. Check the link below, this is when it gets good.
