Reuniting with enigmatic producer Ariano to collaborate on the Blue Hour remixes, Ariano ’s production brings it back to classic breakbeats and samples and sets a moody canvas for Def-I to do what he does best. With an effortless flow, he is a true master of his craft, tackling intense issues with ease where others would struggle to find the words. Def-I takes his sorrow and brings it to life with a soundtrack that is painful, yet triumphant and curative.

Conceptualized by Noor-Un-Nisa Touchon and directed by Alec Brown , the video for Wake Self' s posthumous single "No Vacancy" puts a New Mexican spin on a classic mobster tale. "No Vacancy" comes from what would prove to be Wake's final album Ready To Live , which is available now through all major digital retailers and streaming platforms via A OK ALL DAY . Wake's life was taken on November 5, 2019 when he was struck by a drunk driver while promoting his album release show in Santa Fe. He was just 30 years old. The New Mexico Hip Hop community suffered an unimaginable loss on November 5, 2019 when Andrew “Wake Self” Martinez was killed by a drunk driver. The seasoned emcee/community activist was only 30 years old at the time of his death. Two days after his passing, Wake was supposed to be at Santa Fe’s Meow Wolf for a release party to unveil what would prove to be his last album, the eerily titled, ‘Ready To Live’ .  But Wake never got the opportunity to reveal his work. Instead, his family and friends have dedicated their time to make sure the project is heard. On Friday ( January 3 ), Wake’s family and friends held a sold-out album release party in Albuquerque for where a roster of local artists performed in his honor, another testament to his unforgettable impact.
