DOF Interview: 21 Questions w/ Stargroves
DEF!NITION OF FRESH aka DOF presents to you the Stargroves, a New York City-based indie-pop band. The group originated with lifelong musician and NYU computer science student Teddy Watson. As founder and lead singer, Teddy recruited current band members Bryan Percivall (bass guitar, supporting vocals), Charlie Rauh (lead guitar, supporting vocals), Max Maples (drums) and Brad Whiteley (snyth, keyboard), bringing their electic mix of talents together to create the band's unique sound. The band is infleuence by bands such as Freelance Whales, Stars and Sigur Rós.
Stargroves' music is best described as a unique type of indie pop that combines catchy melodies with wild and often orchestral compositions. Their uniquely eclectic sound has garnered recognition from industry heavyweights MTV Buzzworthy and Perez Hilton among other media outlets and industry bloggers. The Stargroves sends their single 'Westjords' featuring Oscar nominated Abigail Breslin (Little Miss Sunshine, Zombieland). The group’s debut album is planned for release on July 22nd under the name Stargroves, along with a release show on July 23rd at Rockwood Music Hall in New York City. Stream the track below!!!

Stargroves latest music video for their song Hats in the Air pays homage to that great cult classic Harold and Maude directed by Hal Ashby. Here we find Stargroves lead singer Teddy Watson as the son (played in the film by Bud Cort) and actress Erika Amato as the mother (played in the film by Vivian Pickles).
